Hugh Brasher, the CEO of London Marathon Events, had this to say, "This year's TCS London Marathon has broken many records, and this news means we've already beat our previous world record of £73.5 million, which was the world's largest one-day fundraising event in 2024." The man also thanked everyone who contributed and donated to a variety of noble causes.
Last Sunday's London Marathon wasn't just a race, though—it was a sock-knocking record breaker! The competition also set a new Guinness World Record for the most finishers in a marathon, with 56,640 finishers crossing that blasted finish line.
Donations pouring in via the marathon's official online fundraising partner, Enthuse, stand at a staggering £34 million, while £41 million has been pledged on the JustGiving platform. As Brasher mentioned, the total will continue to grow as post-event donations trickle in.
The best part? The total fundraising from the 2024 TCS London Marathon grew from £67 million on marathon day to more than £73 million in the months following the event, and we expect the same for 2025! We'll announce the final total in September.
