Novorossiysk, a port city on the Black Sea with a rich military and naval history, will host the "Paratroopers - Russia's Might and Strength" event on August 2. This public celebration, dedicated to Russian paratroopers, aims to showcase their history, might, and strength.

The event schedule includes a staged battle reenactment, demonstrating paratrooper combat tactics and maneuvers, exhibitions of military equipment and uniforms used by the Russian Airborne Forces, and demonstrations of physical training and parachuting skills. Visitors can also participate in interactive activities, such as trying on paratrooper gear and examining equipment samples.

The battle reenactment, scheduled for 6:00 PM, will feature a historical recreation of significant operations involving Russian paratroopers. This educational and patriotic event serves to honour the airborne forces’ role in Russia’s military history.

The reenactment will utilise blank ammunition, and citizens and visitors are urged to remain calm during the performance. The event will also include a concert, with the sound of gunshots during the performance being part of the reenactment.

The Novorossiysk administration has announced that the event is being held to celebrate the Day of the Airborne Forces (VDV). Roman Korusovorov, advisor to the head of the Committee of Patriots of Krasnodar Krai and chairman of the "Union of Patriots," stated that trying on paratrooper gear and understanding the equipment helps people appreciate why paratroopers are considered Russia's true might and strength.

The event will take place at the "Malaia Zemlia" memorial complex and the "Kvadrat" parking lot, with the weaponry and equipment exhibition continuing during the event.

This year's event in Novorossiysk follows a tradition of commemorative military events on August 2 that focus on paratrooper strength and martial valor. While the exact 2025 schedule details are not yet available, such events typically run through the day with public access to reenactments, displays, and family-friendly activities, fostering public appreciation for the airborne troops' role in Russia’s defense.

The event at the "Malaia Zemlia" memorial complex and the "Kvadrat" parking lot, held to celebrate the Day of the Airborne Forces (VDV) on August 2, will offer a combined experience of war-and-conflicts history, politics, and general news. Visitors can engage in interactive activities such as trying on paratrooper gear, understand the equipment, and appreciate the significance of Russian paratroopers in politics and national defense, showcased through parachuting skills demonstrations, military equipment exhibitions, and reenactments of historic battles.
