Celebrating a Century of Shooting Tradition: The Jubilee Festival of St. Sebastianus Shooting Club Düsseldorf-Wersten 1925

In the heart of Wersten, Germany, the St. Sebastianus Shooting Club celebrated a significant milestone last weekend. The club, founded 100 years ago, marked its centenary with a jubilee marksmen's festival that drew honorary guests, music groups, and the local youth.

The festivities began on Saturday, with a parade that saw the participation of several companies, including the Pioneer Company, the Andreas Hofer Company, the 1st Hunters' Society, and the St. Hubertus Company. Ten music groups, including the music corps Bickenbach, the brass corps from Neuss Reuschenberg, and the federal fanfare corps Neuss-Furth, provided a melodious backdrop to the parade.

Mayor Keller was among the honorary guests, congratulating Michael Schulz on his birthday and bringing a gift for the shooting club. Schulz, the shooting chief, thanked Oberst Klemens Hähnsdiek for the successful parade. The weather, unfortunately, took a turn for the worse, causing the tattoo after the festive service to be rained out.

The crowning of new majesties marked the climax of the celebrations. Sascha Brunder and his wife Sabrina were crowned the Regiments King and Queen. Leon Heisterbach and Lena Marie Brandschwede were crowned the new Regiments Prince and Princess. Ida Kroger was crowned the new Youth Queen, while Jonathan Haas was crowned the new Junior Marksman King.

The majesties were crowned in a festive ceremony on Tuesday, marking the end of the jubilee marksmen's festival. The new Regiments King is represented by the Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen, a society founded this year.

The celebration was particularly festive, with banners, flags, and new green jubilee cravats adorning the parade route. Pictures from the parade and festival can be found in the picture gallery on our website.

While detailed information about this specific event may be hard to find online, checking local Wersten community websites, official shooting club announcements, or regional news sources closer to the event date might provide more insights. The jubilee festival was a testament to the enduring spirit of camaraderie and tradition within the St. Sebastianus Shooting Club and the Wersten community.

The parade, featuring companies such as the Pioneer Company and the St. Hubertus Company, included a vibrant display of sports-related activities, adding an exciting element to the jubilee marksmen's festival. During the crowning ceremony, Sascha Brunder and Sabrina were crowned the Regiments King and Queen, demonstrating the importance of sports in their roles as majesties within the shooting club.
