On June 11, 2025, tragedy struck the BORG school in Graz. A former student, aged 21, unleashed a wave of terror using a shotgun and a pistol, taking lives around 10 am local time. The gunman eventually ended his rampage by taking his own life in a school bathroom.

  • Fatalities: The shooting claimed the lives of ten individuals, six females, and three males. The shooter also lost his life by suicide.
