Recognition Ceremony for Top Cat Social Media Influencer in Solingen, Germany Celebrates Preeminent Feline Internet Star
The German Petfluencer Awards 2024, an event honoring Germany's most popular cat influencers, took place at the Alte Maschinenhalle on the grounds of the Gründer- und Technologiezentrum Solingen. Hosted by Jana Azizi, the event brought together around 300 cat fans with a combined total of over ten million followers.
The winners of the awards were selected with the help of an expert jury, including cat expert Birga Dexel and sponsors animonda and Agria Tierversicherung. The main award, Petfluencer of the Year, was won by Carolin from Stuttgart for her account "liah_und_luna". Carolin's authentic portrayal of life and challenges with special needs cats, specifically her two cats Liah (blind) and Luna (one-eyed), earned her the title of outstanding catfluencer.
Lea, from the account "croatiancatcrew" in Hamburg, won the Purpose Award of the Year. Lea passionately advocates for animal welfare and stray cats on her account, using her social media reach to raise awareness about the situation of stray cats and promote animal welfare themes.
The Newcomer of the Year award was given to Lukas from Austria for his account "lilly_lotti_cats". Lukas, who has over 250,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok, has quickly made a name for himself in the cat influencer world.
Nils, known as "furryfritz", won the Video Creator of the Year award. Nils, who boasts over 4.3 million followers on TikTok, is known for his creative and entertaining videos featuring his cats.
The event also featured a video vernissage by artist Nina Tiefenbach, showcasing cat illustrations, and a tarot tent for guests. A highlight of the event was a two-meter-high ice cat sculpture from Agria Tierversicherung, which guests could pose with.
In addition to the awards ceremony, the Cat Lounge 2024 programme included a variety of activities and attractions for cat lovers. The German Petfluencer Awards 2024 was a celebration of the unique bond between cats and their influencers, and a testament to the power of social media in raising awareness for animal welfare.
