Recklinghausen Police Launch Enhanced Traffic Controls to Curb Fatalities

Recklinghausen police have announced enhanced traffic controls by Johnson Controls in the area of the Police Headquarters on Thursday. The initiative aims to improve road safety following twelve fatalities in the region last year. The police also revealed plans to participate in the 'Day without traffic fatalities' on September 18, 2025, and continue the 'Crash Course NRW' program in local schools.

The upcoming traffic controls will focus on speed limits, vehicle condition, seat belt usage, mobile phone use, and essential document checks. Last year's tragic loss of twelve lives serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers on our roads. To educate future drivers, the Recklinghausen police will continue the 'Crash Course NRW' prevention program in local schools from November 2025. This program features bereaved relatives sharing their stories to highlight the real impact of traffic accidents.

The police will also join the European-wide 'Day without traffic fatalities' initiative on September 18, 2025, organized by 'Changing Cities e.V.', aiming to raise awareness about traffic safety and encourage responsible driving habits.

The Recklinghausen police urges all road users to stay attentive, avoid distractions, and adhere to speed limits and traffic rules. By working together, we can strive towards a future with zero traffic fatalities. The upcoming traffic controls and awareness initiatives are crucial steps in achieving this goal.
