Riteish Deshmukh Honours Late Father on 13th Death Anniversary
Recalling late father Vilasrao Deshmukh on the 13th anniversary of his demise, Riteish expresses his feelings.
Riteish Deshmukh, the renowned Bollywood actor, recently shared a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, on the 13th anniversary of his passing. The actor posted a monochrome picture of his father on Instagram, accompanied by the words, "We love you Ajoba!! #vilasraodeshmukh smritidin."
Vilasrao Deshmukh, born on May 26, 1945, in Babhalgaon, Latur district, Maharashtra, was an Indian politician who served as the 14th Chief Minister of Maharashtra in two terms: from 18 October 1999 to 16 January 2003 and from 1 November 2004 to 5 December 2008. He also held key ministerial portfolios such as revenue, cooperation, agriculture, home, industries, and education in the Maharashtra government.
Deshmukh served in the Union cabinet as the Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences. He was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress in Maharashtra and played significant roles in the state's politics for several decades. His political legacy continues through his family, including his son Amit Deshmukh, who is also an active Congress leader in Maharashtra.
Riteish Deshmukh, who is married to actress Genelia Deshmukh, has recently wrapped up the UK schedule of Masti 4, directed by Milap Zaveri. The filmmaker is also working on Housefull 5, in which Riteish stars alongside Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sonam Bajwa, among others.
In the Instagram post, Riteish's sons, Riaan and Rahyl, were also seen praying to their late grandfather's photographs. Vilasrao Deshmukh passed away on 14 August 2012 due to multiple organ failure in Chennai, aged 67, after being critically ill with kidney and liver failures.
