Reason disclosed for Reed Bush's exit by Avangard

It's official: Reid Boucher won't be suiting up for Avangard Omsk anymore. Here's the lowdown on the departure of the forward from the team, as shared by general manager Alexei Sopenko.

In an interview with TASS, Sopenko revealed that Boucher had been offered a contract extension since January, but the player couldn't make a decision. However, by the time negotiations resumed, the club had already made other decisions – including parting ways with Boucher. The reasoning behind this decision, as Sopenko explained, was the club's salary cap issues.

So, what about a replacement for Boucher? Well, according to Sopenko, one is in the works, but the club won't be rushing to announce the new player just yet. They'll stick to their own schedule.

Last season, Boucher played 52 games for Avangard Omsk, scoring 28 goals and making 21 assists. In the playoffs, he added another 8 points in 13 games. It looks like he'll be taking those skills to a new team this season, as he signed a one-year deal with Yekaterinburg's "Avtomobilist." The exact amount he'll be earning for the season has been reported as 90 million rubles.

Stay tuned for updates on who'll be stepping into Boucher's shoes at Avangard Omsk. No word yet on when or who that might be, but one thing's for sure – the team is trying to keep their cards close to their chest for now.

After parting ways with Reid Boucher, Avangard Omsk might be looking to recruit a new player to replace him in the hockey team. Despite the ongoing speculations, the club has not officially announced the new recruit yet, opting to stick to their own schedule.
