Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht Faces Fraud Charges in Austria, Remains on Reality Show

In a surprising turn of events, German actor Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht found himself in the midst of a legal battle while still participating in the Sat.1 reality show "Villa of Temptation."

Last Friday, Ochsenknecht appeared in court in Innsbruck, Austria, to face charges of alleged aggravated fraud. The charges are related to an unpaid hotel bill of nearly 14,000 euros from a multi-day stay in late 2021 at a four-star hotel in Kirchberg, Tyrol. The bill covered overnight stays, restaurant meals, and transportation services, reportedly for Ochsenknecht's birthday celebration.

Despite the legal proceedings, Ochsenknecht continued to appear on the reality show. In a recent episode, he received the most votes among the candidates, narrowly missing the finale. After the elimination, he expressed his happiness and said that others deserved the win more than him.

The charges remained unpaid for years, despite a civil court order. The hotelier eventually invoked Austrian public prosecution, resulting in a European arrest warrant issued at the end of 2024. Ochsenknecht was arrested at Hamburg airport in June 2025, and the bill was settled shortly afterwards, reportedly financed by his ex-girlfriend.

The Innsbruck trial lasted about an hour. The court accepted a diversion settlement allowing Ochsenknecht to pay a fine of 18,000 euros without a formal conviction. This approach is recognized under Austrian law and means he avoids entry on his criminal record.

The overall process involved civil orders, criminal prosecution, arrest, extradition, and a court settlement without a formal trial verdict. The charge he faced was "serious fraud," punishable by up to three years in prison, but ultimately the case ended with the fine and diversion.

Despite the legal drama, Ochsenknecht's future appearances on television programs, including the reality show "Villa of Temptation," are set to cover his arrest and extradition. The recording of the finale was done in Thailand before it began airing.
