Terror Strikes Pahalgam: The chilling echoes of the Pahalgam terror attack continue to reverberate along the India-Pakistan border, causing a palpable tension. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has waded into the thick of things, grabbing the reins from the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The NIA's aggressive investigation dove into the tragic incident, which resulted in the brutal demise of 26 tourists, as confirmed by top sources to the news agency ANI.

The possession of this critical case is a result of the Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalisation (CTCR) division of the Ministry of Home Affairs' directive, given the seriousness of the situation, considering the malicious hand of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba's proxy, the Resistance Front (TRF), in claiming responsibility for the attack.

The NIA took control of the case five days following the incident, making it official four days after a checkup of the crime scene, aiming to support the Jammu and Kashmir Police in their probe, deemed the deadliest civilians assault in the region in nearly two decades.

The NIA's team, spearheaded by a Deputy Inspector General-rank officer, touched down in Baisaran on April 23, the day following the attack. Intriguing details derived from sources, privy to the development, were shared by ANI, asserting the NIA's assumption of the case and the commencement of its meticulous examination.The assault comes at a crucial juncture when Kashmir experiences a renaissance in tourist influx after years of militancy. Of particular interest, the 38-day Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 3.

Meanwhile, as India ramps up its countermeasures following the horrific attack, security forces dismantled the refuge of an active terrorist, Adnan Shafi of Wandina, Zainapora, who had been affiliated with the terrorist organization for a year.

Preceding this, the residential dwelling of a suspect in the Pahalgam terrorist attack was flattened by security forces and Jammu and Kashmir authorities, officials stated on Saturday.
