Real Madrid regains Carlo Ancelotti as their manager, following his departure from Everton.
Carlo Ancelotti Returns to Real Madrid as New Coach
Carlo Ancelotti has been appointed as the new coach of Real Madrid, marking his return to the Spanish football giants. The news was announced in a modest statement by the club, with Ancelotti's three-year contract set to begin on June 2.
The decision to hire Ancelotti was made by Florentino Pérez, the president of Real Madrid. Ancelotti's tenure at the club during his first stint, which spanned from June 25, 2013, to May 25, 2015, was marked by his ability to win trophies and set records.
One of the remarkable records Ancelotti set during his time with Real Madrid was achieving 51 wins in a calendar year (in 2014). This feat is yet to be surpassed by any other coach in the club's history. Ancelotti's tenure also resulted in winning the Champions League trophy, a testament to his tactical prowess.
Ancelotti's first stint at Real Madrid was characterized by a harmonious relationship with the players. This harmony translated into multiple trophies for the club, including four in total during his tenure.
Before his return to Real Madrid during the 2021/2022 season, Ancelotti was active at Everton in the English Premier League. However, he mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the English club to take up the challenge at Real Madrid once again.
Ancelotti has already been presented to Real Madrid fans, and the official signing and press conference will take place on June 2. The Italian coach is a tried-and-true option for Real Madrid, implying he has previous experience coaching the team.
It is worth noting that Ancelotti was one of the actively rumored replacements for Zinedine Zidane. However, none of Allegri, Conte, Pochettino, or Raúl were selected as Zidane's replacements at Real Madrid.
As Ancelotti prepares to take the helm at Real Madrid for a second time, fans are hopeful that he can repeat his previous successes and lead the team to more trophies and records. The countdown to June 2 begins.
