Reading Rainbow Returns to Screens on KidZuko with Star-Studded Reboot
The beloved children's series 'Reading Rainbow' is returning to screens, this time on the KidZuko YouTube channel. The reboot, which originally aired from 1983 to 2006, has a new host and a fresh lineup of celebrity guests.
The original host, LeVar Burton, is succeeded by actress Sabrina Alven and Mychal Threets, who will go by Mychal the Librarian. The first episode, hosted by Threets, will air this Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern. Notable figures such as Adam DeVine, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Gabrielle Union, and Jamie Chung will make appearances throughout the four-episode series.
The reboot's return comes amidst the federal government's decision to cut $1.1 billion from public broadcasting. Despite this, Sony Pictures Television, the operator of KidZuko, is committed to bringing quality children's programming to viewers.
The first episode of the 'Reading Rainbow' reboot, hosted by Mychal Threets, premieres this Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern on the KidZuko YouTube channel. With four episodes planned and a star-studded lineup, the series promises to captivate a new generation of young readers.
