Ray J's desperate voodoo quest in Haiti as doctors give him months to live

Singer and reality TV star Ray J has revealed he has only months to live due to severe health problems. The 45-year-old, known for his 1990s hit One Wish and later appearances on shows like Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, is now preparing for a controversial trip to Haiti in two weeks. There, he plans to seek 'voodoo' treatment in a last-ditch effort to improve his condition.

His heart is currently functioning at just 25% capacity after a battle with pneumonia, which he blames on years of heavy substance use.

Ray J first rose to fame in the late 1990s with his platinum-selling single One Wish. Later, he became a household name through reality television, starring in For the Love of Ray J and Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. But his career took a turn in 2007 when a sex tape with Kim Kardashian leaked, sparking years of legal battles.

In 2022, he accused Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, of breaching a 2007 settlement agreement by distributing extra copies of the tape. Under the original deal, he received a one-time payment of $700,000 in exchange for handing over all rights. Kim Kardashian denied any ongoing dispute in 2023, yet as of January 2026, the case remains unresolved with no public court decisions or new settlements.

His personal life has also faced turmoil. In November 2022, he was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at his ex-wife, though the case's outcome was never widely reported. More recently, he thanked his sister, singer Brandy, for covering his mounting hospital bills as his health declined.

Now, with doctors giving him only months to live, Ray J has turned to alternative treatments. He claims traditional medicine has failed, and his final hope lies in a spiritual journey to Haiti. Friends close to him say he remains determined, despite the odds.

Ray J's planned trip to Haiti comes as his legal fight with the Kardashian-Jenner family drags on without resolution. His health continues to deteriorate, with his heart operating at a quarter of its normal strength. The outcome of his unconventional treatment—and the long-running dispute—remains uncertain.
