An 87-year-old Fiat driver suffered minor injuries after colliding with an excavator bucket, while a teenager was harassed on his way home. Meanwhile, traffic signs were tampered with, and drivers were caught breaking rules.
On Thursday around 1:30 PM, an 87-year-old Fiat driver was involved in a traffic accident on Ravensburger Straße near the vocational school. The elderly woman, who sustained minor injuries, collided with the bucket of an excavator. Her Fiat suffered total economic damage estimated at around 15,000 euros. She was taken to the hospital by the rescue service.
Earlier on Wednesday around 3 PM, an 18-year-old motorcyclist was slightly injured in a collision with a car. The teenager's KTM sustained damage of around €1,000, while the BMW suffered damage of around €10,000.
On Wednesday evening, a teenager was shouted at and pursued by an unknown perpetrator on his way from Berg station to the city centre. The 17-year-old, who arrived at the station around 8:15 PM from Aulendorf, noticed the unknown person in the bushes. The suspect is estimated to be around 25 to 30 years old, 180 cm tall, and of athletic build, wearing a hoodie.
In separate incidents, a 38-year-old man rotated a traffic sign by 90 degrees on Wednesday evening, causing a dangerous positioning of the directional signs. A 43-year-old driver led police on a chase on Thursday morning for not wearing his seatbelt and could not present his ID or driver's license. Additionally, a 34-year-old driver can expect a significant fine and points in Flensburg for driving through a red light in Ravensburger Straße on Thursday around 7:30 PM.
Authorities are investigating the incidents and urge anyone with information about the unknown perpetrator harassing the teenager to come forward. Meanwhile, drivers are reminded to follow traffic rules to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
