Raut Endorses Pawar's Assertions Regarding Alleged Election Outcome Tampering

In the run-up to the Maharashtra Assembly elections, two unidentified individuals approached several key political leaders with a shocking offer: to secure victory in up to 160 out of 288 seats through manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and electoral rolls.

Sharad Pawar, founder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), revealed that these individuals met him before the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly polls and also met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who rejected their offer. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut confirmed that Uddhav Thackeray, former Maharashtra Chief Minister, was also approached with a similar offer ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

According to reports, the individuals asked Thackeray for a list of 60-65 challenging constituencies and assured wins through EVMs. However, Thackeray refused the offer, stating his belief in democracy and confidence in winning through legitimate means. Uddhav Thackeray is expected to lead protests against the erstwhile Shinde government.

Notably, Pawar and Thackeray dismissed the offer, preferring to rely on democratic electoral processes. Pawar also introduced these individuals to Rahul Gandhi, who similarly declined.

The specific identities of the two individuals have not been disclosed in the reports. Sanjay Raut, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, reiterated that the same individuals had approached Uddhav Thackeray before the Lok Sabha elections.

Devendra Fadnavis, current Maharashtra Chief Minister, questions why these senior leaders did not approach the police or the Election Commission of India with their complaints. Uddhav Thackeray emphasized his faith in the democratic process when he declined the offer made before the Lok Sabha elections.

As the elections approach, these allegations have raised concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. The Election Commission of India has yet to comment on the matter. The political parties involved have not provided further details about the individuals or the circumstances of the alleged approach.
