Ratcliffe's visit not a crises meeting at Manchester United, affirms Amorim
Manchester United are currently going through a tough start to the season, having lost against Grimsby in the League Cup and taken only four points from their opening four Premier League games. This is the club's lowest final position in the top-flight since 1973-74, finishing 15th in the Premier League last season under the management of Rúben Amorim.
The Red Devils have also suffered defeats in their last two Premier League games against Arsenal and Manchester City. However, there is a glimmer of hope as key players Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha are now available for selection after recovering from injury.
Amorim remains optimistic about the team's progress, believing that United need to be more aggressive and clinical in both defending and attacking. He met with British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, a minority owner of Manchester United with control over the sports management area, to discuss United's long-term project. Ratcliffe reassured Amorim that the club remains committed to this long-term project, despite media speculation about his future.
Ratcliffe's support for Amorim is significant, as the coach has won just 27% (8 out of 31) of his Premier League matches since taking charge. United missed out on Champions League qualification last season after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.
Despite the challenges, United are determined to turn things around. They will face Chelsea at Old Trafford this Saturday, providing an opportunity to secure their first Premier League win of the season. Amorim is confident that with continued improvement and a more ruthless approach at both ends of the pitch, United can start to climb the table.
