Rare waterspouts mesmerize Krasnodar Krai’s coastal towns over the weekend
Residents of Dagomys and Nebug in Krasnodar Krai witnessed an unusual sight on Saturday - waterspouts hovering over the sea. The day was forecasted by wetter.com to have cloudy skies and intermittent showers, with temperatures ranging from +13 to +18°C.
Eyewitnesses captured footage of a dark funnel cloud forming over the water. In Dagomys, the waterspout was a considerable distance from the shore. Residents of Nebug reported seeing small, newly formed funnels that appeared briefly before dissipating quickly.
If such an event occurs, it's crucial to stay safe. If a waterspout moves towards land, leave the shoreline immediately. Do not take cover under bridges or inside vehicles. Stay away from windows and glass structures. Instead, seek shelter in a sturdy building. If you spot a waterspout at sea, keep a safe distance and avoid approaching the water.
While waterspouts are rare on land, they can occur over bodies of water. The recent sightings in Krasnodar Krai serve as a reminder to stay vigilant and follow safety guidelines if such an event occurs.
