Rare December snow storms disrupt Sochi’s coastal weather patterns

Unseasonal snow storms are heading toward Sochi’s coastal areas, breaking the usual weather pattern. The storms will hit the Magri-Veseloe zone, including the FT Sirius training centre, before December 10 ends. Authorities have issued warnings as the rare winter snow storms approach the Black Sea region.

The Krasnodar Region’s emergency monitoring centre forecasts cold temperatures and light snow for the evening of December 10. Moderate winds will accompany the snow showers, but the focus remains on the snow storms forming over the sea. These snow storms are expected to persist overnight and into the morning of December 11.

The snow storm warning will lift by mid-morning on December 11. Until then, the region faces a mix of snow, wind, and snow storms—uncommon for a winter forecast. Local monitoring teams continue to track the situation closely.
