Rapper D4vd stuns with unexpected choice as Celeste Rivas case takes an unexpected twist in the investigation
In a shocking turn of events, the body of 19-year-old Celeste Rivas was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the musician known as D4vd. The rapper, whose real name is David Burke, has since cancelled the rest of his U.S. tour due to his involvement in the investigation.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is conducting the investigation into Celeste Rivas' death. The Tesla, which had been abandoned in Hollywood Hills and then towed, is a key piece of evidence in the case.
D4vd was in the middle of promoting his album 'Withered' before the discovery. The media impact has been enormous, with singer Kali Uchis withdrawing her collaboration with D4vd. Uchis distanced herself from Burke, stating that he is not her friend and clarified that she is withdrawing their collaboration "Crashing". She also criticized the way women are often blamed for men's actions in her Instagram responses.
As of now, David Burke has not made any public statement regarding the case or their collaboration.
The investigation began on April 5, 2024, when Celeste Rivas disappeared in the Riverside community. Several pieces of evidence were recovered from a Hollywood Hills house, which will be analysed in the coming days.
Celeste Rivas' family launched a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to cover the young woman's funeral expenses. The rapper's most well-known song, titled "Romantic Homicide", is under scrutiny for its lyrics.
The LAPD has executed a search warrant at a local address related to the teenager's death. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be released in due course.
