Ranxo Gravel: Klöser and Alleman Crowned Champions in Thrilling Wins
The Ranxo Gravel race in Spain saw thrilling victories and title decisions in the elite women's and men's categories on Sunday. The women's race began at 7:45 a.m., with the men following 55 minutes later. The course offered challenging terrain with 1,930 metres of climbing, rocky sections, and technical trails in fast and dry conditions.
In the women's race, Rosa Klöser (Canyon Factory Racing) broke away on a solo effort to claim victory in an impressive time of 5:29:41. This win not only secured her the overall series title for elite women in the Gravel Earth Series (GES) but also extended her winning streak to four. Behind her, Morgan Aguirre took second place, while Sarah Sturm finished third. Sturm's performance placed her fifth in the GES series standings, with Aguirre securing third overall.
The elite men's race came down to a nail-biting sprint between Wout Alleman (Buff Megamo) and Magnus Bak Klaris (PAS Racing). Alleman, making his first appearance in a series event, emerged victorious. Klaris, despite finishing second, was crowned elite men's champion of the GES, thanks to his consistent performances throughout the series.
Rosa Klöser's dominant performance at Ranxo Gravel solidified her status as the elite women's champion in the GES.
