Rankings of the Top Brews Globally, as Revealed by the 2025 World Beer Cup Competition

The World Beer Cup, often referred to as "The Olympics of Beer Competitions", is an annual event hosted by the Brewers Association. This year, the Craft Brewers Conference and World Beer Cup Awards ceremony took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, with breweries from around the globe participating to showcase their finest brews. Each category received an average of 73entries, making it a fierce competition.

The beers are judged blindly by international judges who hold judging credentials or industry experience. This year, there were 265 total judges, 132 of whom hailed from 37 different international locations. Winning a medal at the World Beer Cup is considered the ultimate affirmation of a beer's quality, and awards often lead to increased sales for the brewery.

The most popular categories this year were versions of IPA's such as Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ale, West Coast-Style India Pale Ale, and American-Style India Pale Ale. However, more craft breweries have been experimenting with lager-style beers, with German-Style Pilsener being the fourth-most entered category. A relatively new beer style, Hoppy Lager, also received considerable attention.

The winners of the 2025 World Beer Cup across various categories have been announced. For the American-Style IPA category (Category 110), although the exact gold winner name was not provided in the search results, the Imperial India Pale Ale gold medal went to Punchface Champion brewed by Grains of Wrath Brewing from Camas. Since the Imperial IPA category is typically more competitive and includes the American-Style IPA, it is safe to say that Grains of Wrath Brewing did exceptionally well in the IPA arena.

Nonetheless, beer enthusiasts and industry insiders flock to the World Beer Cup to witness fierce competition, innovation, and celebrate the very best in the brewing world.
