Rangers dominate Capitals as Fox returns and Panarin hits historic milestone

The New York Rangers delivered a strong performance in their latest match against the Washington Capitals. Several players hit personal milestones, while the team set a defensive record for the season.

The game also marked the return of a key player after a lengthy injury absence.

Vincent Trocheck got the Rangers off to a quick start by scoring the opening goal. His tally also marked the 600th point of his NHL career.

Adam Fox made his comeback after missing 14 games with an injury. He wasted no time contributing, netting his second power play goal of the season.

Gabe Perreault continued his productive streak, recording an assist for the second straight game against the Capitals. Meanwhile, Will Cuylle set a personal best with six blocked shots in a single match.

Defensively, the Rangers were relentless, blocking a season-high 27 shots. This effort surpassed their previous best this year.

Off the ice, Artemi Panarin reached another career landmark. His 90th point of 2025 made him just the fifth player born outside North America to achieve five consecutive calendar years with at least 90 points.

The Rangers’ win showcased both individual achievements and team effort. Fox’s return boosted their offence, while the defensive unit set a new season record for blocked shots. Panarin’s consistency further solidified his place among the league’s top scorers.
