Residents of Neuss, Germany, are gearing up for the runoff election on an upcoming date. Here's what you need to know about voting in this election.

The voting notifications for the runoff election are the same as those for the main election. No separate notifications will be sent. Mail-in ballots for the runoff election will be received by voters in the coming days.

If you haven't yet requested a mail-in ballot, you can do so until September 26, 2025, at 3 PM in person or until September 24, 2025, at 2 PM online. The deadline for online mail-in ballot requests is earlier due to postal delivery time.

The city of Neuss election office is located in the Round Building of the City Hall, Market 2, Entrance 3 (Passage - opposite the Citizen's Office). You can also request a mail-in ballot online by visiting Online Request for Mail-in Ballots.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the election office will be open from 8:30 AM to 12 PM for the replacement of missing or lost voting slips only. The office's regular hours are Monday to Wednesday: 8 AM to 4 PM, Thursday: 1 PM to 6 PM, and Friday: 8 AM to 12:30 PM.

Voters who have already requested mail-in ballots for the main election will receive them for the runoff election without a new request. Eligible voters can vote in person at the city of Neuss election office until September 26, 2025, at 3 PM.

In the main election, candidate Reiner Breuer (SPD) won the most mail-in voter support in the city of Neuss by the September 26, 2025 deadline, securing 50.1% of the votes and winning the mayoral election outright on September 14, 2025.

Please note that the election office's special hours are not included in the regular hours. Also, a valid ID (personal ID or passport) is required for identification when voting, but lost voting notifications do not prevent voting.
