Rammstein's 2022 Europe Tour Boasts Audiotech Equipment by L-Acoustics
Rammstein's 2022 European Stadium Tour Delivers Powerful Live Sound with L-Acoustics and Meyer Sound
Rammstein's 2022 European stadium tour has been a sonic spectacle, thanks to a high-end audio setup that includes over 200 Meyer Sound Leopard line array speakers and 70 Meyer Sound 700-HP subwoofers. L-Acoustics provided the sound system and control for this impressive setup.
The audio rig, supplied by SSE Audio, is adaptable and expandable to fit the varying sizes of the different stadiums. In larger venues, up to four delay towers and up to eight positions for roof delays with 12 L-Acoustics K2 speakers are used.
The L-Acoustics loudspeaker system consists of 140 K1 large format WST line source loudspeakers, 128 K2 full range WST line source loudspeakers, 40 K1-SB flyable high-power subwoofers, 68 KS28 high-power subwoofers, 16 ARCS II constant-curvature WST line source elements, and 16 KARA WST system modular line source elements. For the monitor system, SSE Audio provided components similar to the FOH setup.
The FOH control system supplied by SSE Audio includes two Avid VENUE S6L systems, two S6L-32D control surfaces, two Avid VENUE E6L-192 engines for S6L, two Waves SoundGrid Server Extreme, and two Avid VENUE Stage 64 stage boxes. A total of 180 amplified LA12X controllers provide the necessary power.
Olsen Involtini and systems engineer Andreas Vater, longtime FOH technician and systems engineer for Rammstein respectively, were responsible for the audio concept. To ensure efficient use of resources during load-ins and load-outs, a Cookie-Richtlinie (Cooking Rule) was implemented. SSE Audio also solved rigging challenges to improve load-ins and load-outs, such as a cage solution that keeps the four hoists on the floor, each capable of lifting 2.5 tons.
As the band's main concern is audio quality during their concerts, this advanced setup has enabled Rammstein to deliver a powerful and immersive live sound for their huge European stadium audiences during 2022. The band is currently touring Europe's biggest stadiums with their 8th studio album.
