Rammstein tribute concert sparks backlash after violent cancellation threats
Harsh Email Sparks Outrage in Halle's Club Scene
A scathing email has sent shockwaves through Halle's nightlife, with the club Tante Manfred (formerly Klub Drushba) at the Puschkinhaus facing fierce backlash and calls for a boycott. The controversy centers on a planned May 2, 2026, concert by Rammstein cover band Zeitlos. The message, received by club operators on Friday, leaves little room for interpretation. Written without formal greeting and in a highly charged tone, it demands the event's immediate cancellation. "You pigs! Seriously? It's 2026, and you're still peddling this Rammstein Nazi-sexist garbage on stage?" the email reads.
Serious Accusations and "Warnings"
The sender identifies themselves as the "Antifascist and Feminist Action Alliance Halle/Saale." The text launches a fierce attack on Rammstein and frontman Till Lindemann, accusing them of "sexualized displays of power" and "calculated taboo-breaking." Particularly alarming, the authors do not shy away from extreme slogans like "KILL TILL!" and openly threaten the club with repercussions. They vow to "plan further actions" unless the May 2 concert is scrapped without delay. "Consider this your final warning," the message concludes. Adding to the pressure, Tante Manfred was also expelled from a local Telegram group where the club had previously promoted its events.
Club Owner Stands by Artistic Freedom
Despite the intense pressure and veiled threats, the management of the August-Bebel-Platz venue remains defiant. Club operator Matthias Golinski made it clear he has no intention of yielding to intimidation. "What matters is that we stand for freedom of art and expression—and this concert will absolutely go ahead," Golinski told our website. For the club, the principle is non-negotiable: as long as a band operates within legal boundaries, it has the right to perform—cover acts included.
