Ralf Richter's Comedic Revival: "Bang Boom Bang" as a Mini-Series
"Ralf Richter to Carry on with 'Bang Boom Bang' as an Ongoing Series" - Ralf Richter seeks prolongation of the "Bang Boom Bang" series
In a buzzing event in Dortmund, actor Ralf Richter announced his plans to revive the legendary cult film "Bang Boom Bang" as a mini-series, more than two decades after its release. Richter famously portrayed the unforgettable character "Kalle Grabowski" in the original film.
His son came up with the brilliant idea to create something reminiscent of "Bang Boom Bang," sparking collaboration with director Özgür Arslan, said Richter during a talk show at the Merkur Spielbank Hohensyburg in Dortmund.
The Mini-Series Pandemonium
Cinematic gold can be hard to fund, so they ditched the initial movie idea and opted for a mini-series instead, Richter shared. "We're already quite far with it. Our goal is to unveil it on streaming services this year, and we're hopeful it'll happen," he assured the audience. Richter hinted, "It's definitely going to be a hilarious story."
Director Peter Thorwarth found breakthrough success with "Bang Boom Bang," eventually scoring a global hit with the Netflix horror film "Blood Red Sky." With "What Doesn't Fit, Will Be Made to Fit" (2002) and "Golden Times" (2006), "Bang Boom Bang" formed the celebrated Unna Trilogy, depicting the struggles and humor of people from the Ruhr area.
