Ralf Richter seeks prolongation of "Bang Boom Bang" as an ongoing series

Get ready for a fresh spin on a classic German comedy! Originally a hit film in 1999, "Bang Boom Bang" is set to make a comeback as a streaming series, thanks to the genius idea of actor Ralf Richter (67). Teaming up with his son and the director Özgür Arslan, they're working diligently on the script.

Back in the day, Richter played the unforgettable character "Kalle Grabowski" from the Ruhrpott film. With a brainwave from his son, they've decided to create something similar, but this time as a series. During an event in Dortmund, Richter revealed, "We sat down, Max and Özgür, and we wrote endlessly."

However, financing a full feature film proved tricky, so they opted for a mini-series instead. Richter shared, "We're already quite far with it. We want to offer it on streaming services this year. And we assume that it will be made."

The original "Bang Boom Bang – Ein todsicheres Ding" marked the breakthrough for director Peter Thorwarth, who later achieved global success with the Netflix horror film "Blood Red Sky." It formed part of the Unna trilogy, honoring the everyday struggles of ordinary folks from the Ruhr region. With this comeback, get ready for a hilarious spin on the story as promised by Richter!

Following the original movie, the director achieved massive success in the horror genre with movies like "Blood Red Sky," proving his versatility as a storyteller. Now, with the "Bang Boom Bang" mini-series, fans can look forward to another dash of comedy that pays tribute to the spirit of the Ruhr region.

In the Ruhr area, where Ralf Richter first brought iconic characters like Kalle Grabowski to life, the team behind the original "Bang Boom Bang" is now collaborating on a new project. This time, it's not just a movie but a series that delves into the world of entertainment, featuring celebrities and even touching upon themes popular in movies-and-tv.
