Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have consistently maintained that the India-Pakistan conflict is a bilateral issue, and external intervention is not welcome.

On September 17, 2021, during the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations, Singh reiterated India's position on the India-Pakistan conflict. He emphasised that a third party cannot interfere in the ongoing dispute between the two nations.

Singh's statement came in response to claims suggesting American involvement in defusing Indo-Pak tensions. He clarified that the suspension of 'Operation Sindoor' was India's own decision, not influenced by any third-party intervention.

The Defence Minister also emphasised that the India-Pakistan conflict is to be resolved bilaterally, without the involvement of third parties. This position aligns with India's long-standing policy on Kashmir and cross-border terrorism.

Singh further stated that Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister had clarified India's rejection of any third-party involvement. He reiterated that issues with Pakistan are strictly bilateral and India will not accept outside interference, echoing PM Modi's stance.

The rejection of external interference in the India-Pakistan conflict is a recurring theme in India's official statements. The India-Pakistan conflict is not open to external intervention, according to both Modi and Singh.

It is worth noting that the mediation between India and Pakistan during the recent tensions was reportedly supported or initiated by former U.S. President Donald Trump. However, India has consistently denied U.S. involvement in the matter.

The event commemorates September 17, 1948, when Hyderabad was integrated into India following a military action against the Nizam's rule. Singh's speech at the celebrations served as an opportunity to address recent claims, including those from Donald Trump, who suggested American mediation played a role in de-escalating the Indo-Pak conflict.

Singh did not specify the current status of 'Operation Sindoor'. However, his stance reinforces India's commitment to resolving issues directly with Pakistan, without the need for external intervention.
