Raj, Purohit, and Basha secure victories during Day 3 of the SSS event

Yesterday's Spartan Super Series (SSS) on Spartan Poker was one heck of a ride, with a total of five tournaments scheduled, guaranteeing a whopping INR 3+ crore between 10-14 April 2019. Let's dive into the highlights of Day 3!

SSS Event #12 INR 2 Lakh GTD

With a buy-in of INR 660, this tournament saw a field of 172 unique players, easily surpassing the guarantee. The top three received a payout, with Adithya Raj, aka 'adithya_raj', banking the biggest check of INR 47,841. In a thrilling final hand, both Raj and heads-up opponent 'Sadesai' hit pairs, but Raj's Kings outranked Sadesai's Jacks, earning him the win. Sadesai pocketed the runner-up prize of INR 32,210. Adithya Raj expressed his excitement, stating, "I'm very happy that my efforts in improving my game are paying off. I'm looking forward to shipping even bigger ones."

SSS Event #13 INR 3 Lakh GTD

The buy-in for the tournament doubled to INR 1,100, attracting 134 unique players who fought for the top spot. The victory went to Nadeem Basha, aka 'pokerbill', who beat 'AlwaysSmile' in heads-up and collected INR 66,893. Basha's Jacks and Sixes bested his opponent's Sixes and Fives in the final hand, with AlwaysSmile taking home a decent prize of INR 45,149.

SSS Event #14 OFC INR 1 Lakh GTD

With another buy-in of INR 1,100, this time in the OFC format, regular grinder on Spartan Poker, Anant Purohit, aka 'Pro', secured the title and the top prize of INR 43,860. In heads-up, he outlasted 'Nomercy3801' who had to settle for the runner-up of INR 25,800. When reached for comment, Purohit was overjoyed, stating, "OFC is one of my favourite games. I loved the tourney and was very excited about it when I initially saw that there is going to be an OFC tourney. I'm happy to win it."

SSS Event #15 TGIF INR 12 Lakh GTD

This feature tournament, held every Friday night on Spartan Poker, attracted 410 entries with a buy-in of INR 3,300. The winner, 'Yea_gl_gg', emerged after a grueling 7-hour grind, taking home INR 2,60,145. The final hand saw Yea_gl_gg beating 'Psycorp1' after hitting Aces and Twos to beat his opponent's pair of Twos. Psycorp1 won INR 1,75,152 for finishing second. Staying anonymous, Yea_gl_gg stated, "I'm happy to win it."

SSS Event #16 The Elite INR 50 Lakh GTD

This high-roller tournament, with a buy-in of INR 27,500, attracted experienced players from the industry. The victory went to 'pokerkill', who beat 'RUMMYQUEEN' in heads-up. With the guarantee exceeded, the tournament was a serious grind, lasting from 9pm to 4:55am. pokerkill took home a massive payout of INR 12.12 Lakh while RUMMYQUEEN pocketed the runner-up prize of INR 8.23 Lakh. Notable contestant Aditya Sushant aka 'SuperuSer' finished 5th, collecting INR 3.6 Lakh.
