India is bracing for a week of widespread rainfall, with several regions experiencing active monsoon conditions. Here's a breakdown of the forecast for various regions:
Southern India
Tamil Nadu and Telangana are in for isolated heavy showers, while Kerala is expected to witness the onset of the Southwest Monsoon within the next 2-3 days. Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Assam & Meghalaya, and Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and other central-eastern states are forecasted for moderate rainfall with occasional thundersqualls. Vidarbha may experience isolated heavy rain on May 24, while Jharkhand and Bengal may experience isolated heavy rain on May 23.
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
Hailstorms are expected in Himachal Pradesh from May 23-24, and heavy rain and hailstorms are forecasted in Uttarakhand during the same period.
Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh
These regions are currently under heatwave conditions.

In August 2025, Kerala is likely to experience above normal rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall episodes continuing intermittently, especially along the coast. Rajasthan will see above normal precipitation, with south Rajasthan especially experiencing fairly widespread rains during many days of the week.
