UAE Weather Forecast for August 8, 2025: Summer Rains and High Temperatures

On August 8, 2025, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasted summer rains in some parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), particularly in the eastern regions such as Al Ain, due to a low-pressure system bringing moisture from the Arabian Sea. This was expected to cause convective cloud formation and rain, possibly continuing until August 12.

According to the NCM, the temperature in Fujairah is expected to drop to 30°C, while Sharjah and Dubai are forecasted to drop to a low of 32°C and 34°C respectively. The sea in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be slight. The temperature in Sharjah is also predicted to reach a high of 43°C. In Dubai, high temperatures of 43°C to 44°C are expected.

Following August 8, rains and even hail were reported in eastern UAE, with wadis overflowing as of August 10, indicating continuing unsettled conditions in those areas until at least August 12. The peak summer heat period known as Al Mirzam ended around August 10, bringing some relief, though daytime temperatures remained high.

In fact, August 2025 saw record-breaking heat in the UAE, including a high of 51.8°C in Sweihan, Al Ain on August 1, the hottest August day in nine years. On August 10, despite some rain and cloud cover, temperatures were still very warm with inland highs near 47°C and coastal cities like Dubai around 43°C to 44°C.

From August 11 onwards, a forecast predicted 14 more days of extreme heat and dust storms through August 24, with very high temperatures and humidity expected to persist before a slight moderation in late August. The temperature in Abu Dhabi is expected to reach a high of 44°C.

In summary, summer rains on August 8 in eastern UAE were linked to moist air from the Arabian Sea and low-pressure systems. Rain and hail continued in eastern parts through August 12. Temperatures remained extremely high through August, with daytime highs around 47°C in inland areas and mid-40s on the coast. From August 11 onwards, extreme heat and dust storms were forecast to dominate until August 24, with only slight cooling expected afterward.
