Sneaky Showers and Whopper Thunderstorms Rolling into Bavaria - Expect a Drizzle of SunToo!
Free State Experiences Thunder Outbursts and Bright Flashes of Lightning, with Mild Sunny Spells in Between - Rain showers and thunderstorms predicted in the Free State, with some intermittent sunshine.
Keep those umbrellas handy, folks!
Bavarians, brace yourself for some bumpy weather ahead—for the coming days, rain and lightning are predicted! The Weather Service of Germany (DWD) has warned that thunderstorms will be joining us as early as Sunday afternoon, beaming in from the west [1][2]. Oh boy, hail as big as 3 centimeters in diameter, along with gusty winds and hefty downpours are fair game! You might find emergency services from the police and fire departments popping up in Franconia on Sunday afternoon and night due to downed trees, oversaturated streets, and flooded basements.
Watch out for the stormy onslaught in the administrative regions of Lower Franconia, Upper Franconia, Middle Franconia, Swabia, Upper Palatinate, and Upper Bavaria [1][2]. A fellow from the Upper Franconia Police Presidency hinted at "several deployments" in the evening. Take Trebgast (part of Kulmbach) as an example; a sports hall took a hit from the stormy weather.
On the brighter side, there's no need to thrust that ice cream cone away just yet: the week will start with a cloudy sky. The DWD says there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms continuing. And in Lower Franconia, look for sunshine peeking out in the afternoon! The highs will float between 19 and 24 degrees.
As for Tuesday, the blue skies in the morning may trick you, so remember to grab your umberella, because showers and individual thunderstorms are expected to rush in like a flash! Wednesday will kick off sunny but will cloud over quickly in Lower Franconia. The threat of widespread showers and thunderstorms, including heavy ones in the south, is a-brewing, and the highs will range between 20 and 27 degrees.

- In light of the approaching weather turmoil, it would be prudent for the Commission to consider the potential impacts of the severe storms on the draft regulation on the application of the rules on the protection of the environment.
- As the Commission consults on the regulation, it may find it beneficial to take into account the possible need for emergency measures due to weather-related hazards, such as flooding or hail damages, that might be caused by the thunderstorms.
