Railway Stunt Game, "Denshattack," leaves question as to whether players can execute a Christ Air maneuver, with developers staying elusive on the matter.
In a thrilling revelation at the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live showcase, Undercoders announced their upcoming game, Denshattack. This fast-paced, trick-based train stunt game, penned by Lincoln Carpenter, a seasoned News Writer for PC Gamer, promises to deliver an unparalleled gaming experience.
With over 11 years of writing about games under his belt, Carpenter's expertise in various titles such as Caves of Qud, Crusader Kings, and Monster Hunter, shines through in his coverage of Denshattack. The game, which is set for release in early 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, including availability on Game Pass, has been a point of discussion for Undercoders since the project's inception.
The core gameplay revolves around performing combos, tricks, and stunts with a nimble train across more than 50 large, diverse levels set in a stylized, dystopian Japan modeled after its railway system. Players can expect a unique blend of high-speed action, trick-based gameplay, and exploration, inspired by games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and influenced by the concept of Multi-Track Drifting.
Key gameplay features include a robust trick system, varied objectives, customization, exploration and creativity, an artistic and narrative style, a soundtrack and atmosphere that immerse players, and controls that offer a challenging yet rewarding gaming experience. The game features a colorful, anime-inspired art style with a story about reclaiming Japan's railroads after a climate catastrophe, providing a strong setting and narrative context.
Players can perform Pro Skater-style trick combos, including flips, spins, and manuals, and even attempt the elusive "Christ Air" trick, as Undercoders confirmed in a recent interview that "with rolling stock, you can do stuff."
Denshattack encourages exploration and replayability, with a map based on actual Japanese rail networks offering a variety of levels for both beginners and experts. The game is set to deliver a traditional shonen anime story, but instead of fistfighting, players engage in elaborate stunt routines with locomotives.
For those eager to jump on board, the game can be wishlisted on Steam. With its unique blend of high-speed action, trick-based gameplay, and a stylized dystopian Japan setting, Denshattack promises to be a game that will captivate players and leave them yearning for more.
