A Four-Day Festival Celebration in Sittarder Street
Get ready for an exciting four-day festival in Sittarder Street, starting from Friday, August 22, at 5 PM. This year's event is a special one, featuring Prince Consort Andre Schiffer, Junior Marksmen Princess Lucia Knippel, and popular bands like Farbton and Hätzblatt.
The festivities kick off on Friday with the opening of the fairgrounds at 5 PM. At 5:30 PM, marksmen will march through the section, adding a touch of tradition to the celebration. The marksmen's party in honour of Junior Marksmen Princess Lucia Knippel begins at 7:30 PM.
On Saturday, the day starts with the court forming at 7 PM. At 7 PM, a procession takes place, leading to the Parish Church of St. Notburga for a festive high mass. After the service, the Queen's Ball in honour of Anja Schiffer-Knippel and Andre Schiffer begins at 7:30 PM, with entertainment provided by Farbton.
Sunday, August 24, starts with an assembly at the Queen's residence at 8 AM. At 10 AM, a large music demonstration and parade takes place in front of the church. From 12 PM, DJ Moehrchen provides entertainment in the festival tent. The day concludes with a wreath-laying ceremony and a grand military tattoo.
The festival reaches its climax on Monday, August 25, with the village evening beginning at 7:30 PM. The highlight of the event is the performance of the Kölsch band "Hätzblatt". Entry to Monday's village evening costs five euros.
Don't miss out on the maypole raising ceremony at the festival tent on Sittarder Street at 7:15 PM on Friday. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking the official festival website, local event listings, or contacting the festival organizers directly.
