Malayalam Actor Rahman Expresses Support for Shwetha Menon Amid Controversy
Malayalam actor Rahman has come forward to express his support for his colleague, Shwetha Menon, who is currently embroiled in a legal case. Rahman, known for his kindness and genuine nature, believes that Shwetha Menon is stronger than the storm of accusations and will face the consequences of those who have tried to harm her.
Rahman, who has worked in both the Malayalam and Tamil film industries, considers Shwetha Menon as one of the kindest and most genuine people in the industry. He recalls her respectful treatment of everyone, regardless of their position, and her kindness towards fellow actors, crew, organizers, and fans during shows. Rahman remembers a particular instance when Shwetha Menon bought medicines for unwell crew members without expecting thanks or recognition.
Rahman and Shwetha Menon worked together in only one film, but their friendship spans almost three decades. Despite being unable to reach out to Shwetha Menon due to food poisoning and then mourning the loss of his friend, Shanavas, Rahman sought her forgiveness for not reaching out sooner.
Rahman expressed his disapproval of the baseless accusations against Shwetha Menon and urged her not to let the accusations break her spirit. He commented on her resilience, stating that these attempts to prevent her from being elected as the President of the Malayalam Artists' Association will only strengthen her resolve.
Rahman, co-brother of music director A R Rahman, expressed his full support for Shwetha Menon on his Instagram page. He stated that he is shocked and disgusted by the people behind the malicious act and believes that Shwetha Menon will make an excellent President of the Malayalam Artists' Association.
Despite the controversy, Shwetha Menon is continuing her campaign for the president post of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The FIR references her roles in films such as Rathinirvetham, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, Kalimannu, and a condom advertisement. These materials, certified by the censor board and publicly available, are alleged to have been circulated online improperly. The Kerala High Court has since stayed proceedings on this FIR, raising questions about the legality of the complaint and its timing. Shwetha Menon has denied the allegations, calling the case baseless and a ploy to sabotage her AMMA presidential run.
