Over the past 24 hours, firefighting teams in Yakutia have made significant progress, extinguishing five fires covering an area of over 32 thousand hectares. However, the region continues to grapple with extensive wildfires, particularly in several districts.

In the Olekminsky District, two wildfires near the villages of Chapayevo and Khoryncy are causing concern, covering a combined area of 2,482 hectares. Meanwhile, in the Verkhnevilyuysky District, two fires near the villages of Orget and Kyrykyiy are burning across a massive 27,726 hectares.

A total of 1,754 personnel and 189 units of equipment are involved in firefighting efforts in Yakutia. The Main Directorate is closely monitoring nine wildfires in the region.

The Mirninsky District has seen active firefighting efforts, with both regional forces and private companies like RNG Group deploying specialized equipment and personnel to help contain and extinguish fires there. The Suntarsky District has also received assistance from RNG due to the challenging fire-hazardous conditions this year.

Satellite imagery from earlier in August indicates that wildfires continued to burn extensively across Yakutia, driven by dry conditions and strong winds. The Olekminsky, Verkhnevilyuysky, and Verkhoyansky Districts are likely affected to varying degrees, although specific up-to-date detailed reports on current fire conditions are not available.

As of August 2025, the 2025 fire season in Yakutia has been marked by difficult, extensive wildfires requiring coordinated responses from both governmental and private firefighting resources. The region remains a significant challenge, with the Olekminsky, Verkhnevilyuysky, Verkhoyansky, Suntarsky, and Mirinsky Districts experiencing the most challenging fire situations. A total of 68 active wildfires in Yakutia are currently covering a total area of over 554 thousand hectares. No new information on fires under close supervision by the Main Directorate has been reported.
