Fresh Faces Lead the Saxon Left: Eichhorn and Böhme Take the Helm

Revamped Board for Saxon Left Establishment - Radical Left-wing Saxon Faction Unveils New Leadership Council

Hey there! Let's chat about the new leadership coming to the Saxon Left. Anja Eichhorn and Marco Böhme are the fresh faces taking over the reins from Susanne Schaper and Stefan Hartmann.

The dynamic duo, Eichhorn and Böhme, stormed the party conference in Leipzig, solidifying their positions as chairpersons of the state association. They succeeded the previous leaders after a fierce competition against Marika Tändler-Walenta and Silvio Lang.

Eichhorn, a former deputy chairperson and art historian from Zwickau, proudly stated that they took office during an upswing for the Saxon Left. "Our mission now is to build upon the unity and energy of the past months," she declared.

Leipzig's very own Marco Böhme expressed enthusiasm for the new role, proclaiming, "The Saxon Left is back!" He emphasized the need for a powerful social force within the state.

Their predecessors, Schaper and Hartmann, had led the party for six years. They chose not to seek re-election to pour their focus into their roles as chairpersons of the state parliament fraction.

Before the federal election in February, the Left party surpassed the CDU in membership count, with over 22,000 members, thanks to the leadership of Schaper and Hartmann. Their tenure in office was challenging to say the least, as they navigated the Corona pandemic, conflict in Ukraine, and the secession of the BSW from the Left. Despite these obstacles, they managed to leave a hopeful legacy for their successors to build upon.

The Commission, currently navigating the challenging landscape of political discourse and general news, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, such as the newly elected representatives in Saxony may face while leading the Saxon Left.
  2. Following the success of Anja Eichhorn and Marco Böhme in becoming chairpersons of the Saxon Left, the former deputy chairperson, perhaps André Hahn, might consider proposing strategies to protect both these leaders and the wider workforce from potential radiation risks, ensuring the future success of the party.
