RACING UNDER FIRE: Denny Hamlin's Heart-Stopping Moment at Texas Motor Speedway | Sports on FOX
Racing vehicle of Denny Hamlin erupts in flames in alarming sight at Texas Motor Speedway
Gosh dangit, Denny Hamlin sure had a close call at Texas Motor Speedway!
The NASCAR ace, Denny Hamlin, faced a terrifying scenario on the track last Sunday during the Würth 400. His No. 11 machine developed a massive engine issue, causing it to ignite into flames like a rocket right there on the track! Yikes!
Between turns 1 and 2 on lap 75, the engine in Hamlin's vehicle just went kaboom! and started belching smoke like a chimney. Emergency workers son of a gun had to quickly rush to the scene to put out the fire before it got out of hand.

Poor ol' Denny only managed to complete 15 laps and ended up way down in the 38th position for the race.
"Just exploded, there ain't nothin' left," Hamlin told FOX Sports with a hint of frustration.
Seems like Hamlin tried to give it a fair shot, hoping to prevent the engine from going full boom, so his folks could take a gander and figure out what the heck went wrong.
2025 NASCAR BETTING: AUSTIN CINDRIC GAINING MOMENTUM FOR THE WÜRTH 400 AT TEXAS
Denny Hamlin, the Toyota driver, has had one heck of a season, ya'll! He's been holding down third place in the points standings behind leader William Byron and Kyle Larson. He was just 52 points behind Byron before this unfortunate event.
But after Sunday's apocalypse on the track, he won't have much of a chance to give chase to either one of those drivers. Chase Elliott was only 20 points behind Hamlin, and Christopher Bell trailed by 30 points.
Hamlin has snagged himself two wins this year, with five top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes.
