Hofor Racing shows stellar performance at the 12h Misano, falling just short of aclass win due to unfortunate timing

The third race weekend of the 2025 Michelin 24H Series European Series has concluded, with the 12h Misano serving as the venue. Hofor Racing, a Swiss-based team based in Saarbrücken, fielded a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for drivers Michael Kroll, Chantal Prinz, Alexander Prinz, and Max Partl. Leading the championship in the GT3 class and the GT3 Am subclass going into the race, they put on a strong show on the Adriatic coast.

The Mercedes-AMG crew demonstrated rapid lap times in qualifying, with Alexander Prinz and Max Partl among the quickest GT3 drivers on the renowned MotoGP circuit. Starting the race from ninth overall, they started strong and maintained a consistent pace throughout, with each driver delivering clean, swift stints. A collision during the start left Alexander Prinz's car marginally damaged, but he pressed on without apparent issues.

Despite their impressive performance, Hofor Racing faced a setback due to the strategic placement of Code-60 phases, called by race control to clear the track of obstructions. These phases cost the team valuable time against their closest competitors, resulting in a sixth-place finish overall. Translated to the GT3 Am category, this equated to a runner-up position, missing the class victory by a mere lap.

Reflecting on the race, Alexander Prinz commented, "We're incredibly proud of our performance in Misano - we had one of the fastest vehicles on the track. It's unfortunate that we encountered a series of unfortunate events with the Code 60 phases, which affected our potential to win the class. Regardless, second place is an exceptional result, and we've accumulated crucial championship points. With two races remaining, we're in a solid position to compete for the title."

Following the 12h Misano, Hofor Racing now sits in second place in the GT3 Am class, trailing the leader by a small margin of four points. In the overall GT3 standings, they are also third, four points behind the front-runner.

The next race in the Michelin 24H Series European Series takes place at Circuit Paul Ricard in France on the first weekend of July. Hofor Racing had successful winter tests at this circuit, aiming to continue their title-winning pursuit.

Hofor Racing exhibited a strong interest in other sports as they sought to improve their racing strategies during the winter tests at Circuit Paul Ricard, hoping to emulate the relentless pace and precise timing of motor racing in their future competitions.

During the 12h Misano, Hofor Racing's Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo demonstrated remarkable pace during racing phases that were not Code-60, showcasing the potential of its performance not only in the world of racing but potentially in other high-speed sports such as motor racing.
