This Sunday's triumph was Piastri's fourth win in the six races this season. The dominant McLaren team also thwarted four-time world champion Max Verstappen, who started on pole but ended in fourth.
"I knew I had a pace advantage from the start," Piastri boasted after the race. "The car was incredible today. I was able to avoid Max in turn one, and from then on, I knew I was in the lead."
Although Piastri faced some struggles during the hard stint, his joy was palpable as he left Miami at the top of the podium. "Two years ago here, we were the slowest team. Today, we won the race by 35 seconds."
Despite finishing second, Norris, Piastri's teammate, couldn't help but feel a tinge of defeat. "The team did an amazing job, but I can't fault them at all. I just couldn't do a good enough job today."
George Russell, who lagged behind his teammate Kimi Antonelli in qualifying, found solace in securing a podium spot.
On the other hand, the season has been a disappointment for Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing seventh and eighth, respectively. Hamilton expressed frustration with his team's tactics multiple times during the race.
Williams driver Carlos Sainz found himself under investigation after an aggressive attempt to overtake Hamilton led to a clash of wheels on the final corner.
