Racing event postponed due to precipitation: Speedway Classic

The Reds held a 1-0 lead before the game was postponed. Notable moments included Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider receiving a bigger ovation than Cincinnati Reds starter Chase Burns, and Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott wearing a custom NASCAR race suit to the game.
The Speedway Classic is part of MLB’s efforts to expand to locations where baseball is not played every day, following games at the Field of Dreams movie site in Iowa in 2021 and 2022, Alabama, and North Carolina. Michael Waltrip, a former NASCAR driver, restarted the festivities with a quote from his brother Darrell. The playing field at Bristol Motor Speedway requires a batter to clear specific distances to hit the ball out of play, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game.
