Racing ahead with a promising mid-point standing
Sorg Racing Aims High in the Remaining NLS Rounds
Sorg Racing, a prominent team in the 2025 NLS season, has started the campaign on a high note, securing podium finishes across various classes. Their most recent achievement was a third-place finish in the overall standings of the CUP2 class during the season opener.
The team's BMW 128i made its season debut during the 24h qualifiers, impressively securing a third place. Sorg Racing's BMW 330i (#504) has also shone, clinching a VT2-RWD class win and two second places.
In the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN), Sorg Racing leads the team standings with the Schmersal Porsche. The team's success in the PETN is nearly flawless, with the Schmersal Porsche winning all four races entered.
Sorg Racing's driver Joep Breedveld has been instrumental in the team's competitive results, delivering podiums and top-10 overall finishes at Hockenheim and Spa earlier in the year. The team's focus for the Six-Hour Race and subsequent NLS rounds is on continuing strong performances and aiming for podium finishes in the 2025 NLS season, building on their ongoing participation and experience with Porsche GT4 RS cars.
Elsewhere, the BGS technic Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport has already finished fourth, while the Porsche Cayman with starting number 418, fielded by Sorg Racing, finished second in the V6 class. The Elfer, driven by Oleksii Kikireshko, Patrik Grütter, and Fabio Grosse, finished the first 24h Qualifier race in second place in the CUP2 class.
Sorg Racing fields up to four GT4 Caymans at each NLS race weekend, demonstrating their commitment to the sport. Notably, Sorg Rennsport collaborated successfully with Moran Gott in the first half of the season, with Gott's self-built BMW 325i winning four classes. However, Sorg Rennsport will no longer support the BMW 325i in the remainder of the season.
In the CUP3 class, Sorg Racing took third place during the season highlight with starting number 969. Heiko Eichenberg and Harley Haughton drive the Schmersal Porsche in the CUP3 class, with Eichenberg leading the Gentleman Trophy and Haughton leading the Junior Trophy. Grosse and Grütter finished the "24 Hours Nürburgring" in third place in their class.
Looking ahead, Sorg Racing aims to use their developing season momentum to challenge for wins and maximize their championship points in their GT4 RS category. The team is preparing to "push hard" and meet the intense competition typical of the Nürburgring endurance series.
