Races for the JK Tyre Novice Cup and Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup have ended in Coimbatore

At the 28th JK Tyre Racing Championship Round 1 held at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, Anish Shetty and Bhuvan Bonu delivered stellar performances, each securing perfect wins in their respective events.

In the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup (professional category), Anish Shetty from Bengaluru dominated the races, winning all three over the weekend with times around 13 minutes 28-39 seconds. Key rivals included Kayan Zubin Patel and Navaneeth Kumar, who finished on the podium in some races.

Meanwhile, Bhuvan Bonu (Team MSport) swept all three races in the JK Tyre Novice Cup with times approximately between 13:59 and 14:54. Other podium finishers across races included Abhijit Vadavalli and Ojas Surve.

Anish Shetty, a seasoned racer who started racing bikes at the age of 15, showcased his expertise in the professional category, while Bhuvan Bonu, a 15-year-old racer from Bengaluru who trains in the United States of America, demonstrated his potential in the Novice Cup.

In the overall standings, Anish Shetty has 30 points, Kayan Zubin Patel has 19 points, and Navaneeth Kumar has 12 points. Navaneeth, the defending champion, bounced back to second place in the third race, pushing Kayan Zubin Patel to third.

In the amateur category, Bryan Nicholas from Pondicherry won all three races, earning 36 points. Other notable performances include Johring Warisa and Saran Kumar.

The GT Cup grid consists of a mix of seasoned riders and novices who have emerged from a trial. The championship continues to be a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and compete against established racers.
