In the heart of Baden-Baden, nestled amongst picturesque landscapes, lies the prestigious Iffezheim horse racing track. Recently, this historic venue witnessed an exhilarating display of racing prowess as six-year-old gelding, Lordano, triumphed in the Great Prize of Tattersalls.

Feet pounded the turf, sweat glistened on brows, and spectators held their breath as 11,500 enthusiasts witnessed a nail-biting finish. Lordano, skillfully ridden by Leon Wolff, crossed the line barely ahead of Wilko (Thore Hammer-Hansen), with Queimados under Eduardo Pedroza claiming third place in the 70,000-euro race.

Lordano has a distinguished past, boasting nine wins in 18 career starts. This victory in Iffezheim marked his third win at the city's track, much to the delight of trainer Marcel Weiß in Mülheim/Ruhr. "Lordano never disappoints us in Baden-Baden. He didn't have a suitable race recently, but now everything went right. He's a great horse," exclaimed Weiß.

The elated jockey Wolff echoed similar sentiments, professing, "A big fighter. It's more fun than flying and riding a roller coaster." The happy owner of Lordano is none other than Witten furniture entrepreneur Manfred Ostermann with his stud Ittlingen, who pocketed a tidy 40,000 euros in prize money.

The Iffezheim racecourse, steeped in tradition, has hosted numerous equestrian events throughout the year, attracting attention from horse racing enthusiasts globally. The Baden-Baden May Mixed Sale, for instance, is a notable event that stirs excitement within the horse racing community. Pictures of equestrian meetings at Iffezheim can even be traced back to 2005, showcasing its historical relevance within the equestrian world.

Horse racing holds a special place in the hearts of locals, bringing fans and participants together to celebrate victories at this beloved track. The international appeal of German horse racing is further underscored by the involvement of prominent figures in equestrian events across the country. The Iffezheim horse racing track plays a significant role in Germany's equestrian scene, contributing to the local culture and economy.

The Commission, in its efforts to oversee the equestrian industry, might consider implementing acts that promote and regulate sports such as horse-racing, given its significant impact on the local culture and economy, as vividly demonstrated by the thriving horse racing track in Baden-Baden, where races like the Great Prize of Tattersalls take place. Leon Wolff, the jockey who skillfully rode Lordano to victory in the Grand Prize, could be seen as a prime example of the thrilling experiences that horse-racing can offer, akin to flying or riding a roller coaster.
