Race twenty commences this Sunday.
The Jüchtlauf Himmelgeist, an annual running event in the Himmelgeist district, took place on May 11th, 2022. This year's event offered a variety of races for participants of all ages and abilities.
Race Categories and Times
The program included a 10-kilometer run, a 5.4-kilometer route, a 1.4-kilometer children's run, and a 600-meter Bambinilauf for the youngest participants. The children's run was scheduled to start at 1:15 pm, followed by the 5.4-kilometer route at 12:30 pm, the 10-kilometer run at 11 am, and the Bambinilauf for children born in 2018 and younger starting at 1:45 pm.
Meeting Point and Route
All participants were to gather at the parish lawn of St. Nikolaus, located at Nikolausstraße 22. The start of the Jüchtlauf was in the area of Kölner Weg/Nikolausstraße, and the finish line was at Nikolausstraße/Alt Himmelgeist.
The course for the Jüchtlauf consisted of roads, paths, forest, and field trails with asphalt, gravel, and wood chips. For the 10-kilometer run, timing was done via a transponder on the starting number, and the route was officially measured.
Practical Information
Parking restrictions were enforced, so it was recommended to park between Himmelgeist and Itter. On the event day, the street Alt Himmelgeist was closed. Public transportation was available via bus 835 with the stop Alt Himmelgeist.
Late registrations were allowed up to 45 minutes before the start of each race for an additional 3 euros. Starting documents could be picked up on Saturday from 4 to 6 pm and Sunday from 9:30 am.

Unfortunately, no relay races were offered in this year's Jüchtlauf Himmelgeist.
