Race twenty begins this Sunday.
The 2021 Jüchtlauf event in Himmelgeist, Germany, was a local running event that took place on Sunday, May 11th. The event was held in the district of Himmelgeist, a picturesque area in Düsseldorf.
Schedule: The event started with the Bambini run for children in grades 2018 and younger at 1:45 pm. This was followed by the children's run for grades 2010-2017 at 1:15 pm, both with an entry fee of 5 euros. The 5.4-kilometer run commenced at 12:30 pm, priced at 15 euros, and the main event, the 10-kilometer run, started at 11 am, with an entry fee of 18 euros.
Location: The central meeting point for all participants was the parish lawn of St. Nikolaus at Nikolausstraße 22. The start area for the event was at Kölner Weg/Nikolausstraße, and the finish line was at Nikolausstraße/Alt Himmelgeist.
Parking and Transportation: Parking restrictions and public transportation options should be considered for travel to the Jüchtlauf event. On the event day, Alt Himmelgeist street would be closed, so parking between Himmelgeist and Itter was recommended. The bus 835 with the Alt Himmelgeist stop was recommended for public transportation.
Course: The course ran through the Jücht on streets, paths, fields, and forest trails with asphalt, gravel, and wood chip surfaces. The 10-kilometer course was officially measured, and timing was done via the transponder on the race number.
Registration: Late registrations were accepted up to 45 minutes before the start for an additional 3 euros. Registration and further information could be found on the Jüchtlauf website: www.juetztlauf-himmelgeist.de.
Safety: Public traffic areas were used during the Jüchtlauf, and traffic regulations must be strictly followed. The parish hall distributed starting materials on Saturday from 4 to 6 pm and Sunday from 9:30 am.
Unfortunately, team relays were not offered this year. However, participants had the opportunity to enjoy a day of running in the beautiful Himmelgeist area.
