Race taking place on April 13th is affirmatively the Linz Marathon
The city of Linz is gearing up for the 23rd Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon, scheduled for April 13. With over 19,000 participants from 89 nations registered, this year's event promises to be a global spectacle.
In preparation for the marathon, various police units will be visible, both in uniform and undercover, ensuring the safety and security of all participants and spectators.
On Sunday, much of the public transport network will be affected by temporary closures or diversions. For instance, the night line N82 between Sonnensteinstraße and Hauptbahnhof will have no service on the night of April 12. Additionally, the railway bridge will be closed to all traffic as early as Saturday, due to the Junior Marathon on the same day.
The closure of the rail push bridge is being organised by the local municipal authorities in coordination with transportation and infrastructure agencies. As a result, buses on lines 12 and 25 will be diverted from 7 am until approximately 5:30 pm on Saturday.
The finish lines for the relay, half, and marathon runners will remain at Pfarrplatz as usual. However, for the 5K and quarter marathon events, runners will receive their post-race refreshments at the art museum (Lentos). There will also be a second finish line at Lentos for these events.
Late registrations are still possible at the Linzer TipsArena on Friday and Saturday.
It's important to note that Austria is currently at a terror alert level of 4. While the organisers and authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators, it is advised that everyone remains vigilant and follows all instructions given by the police and event staff.
