Race on Glasbach Mountain Commences: Temporary Closure of L 1027 Road Close to Steinbach From Thursday
News Article: L 1027 Glasbach Mountain Racecourse Road Closure and Event Details
The L 1027 Glasbach Mountain Racecourse will undergo a full road closure from August 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM to approximately August 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM. This closure is in preparation for the upcoming mountain slalom race event.
During the road closure, drivers will be redirected to use alternative routes such as nearby highways and local routes parallel to the L 1027. Detour signs will guide traffic around the closure, and additional staff will be present during peak times to assist with navigation. The detour route for the road closure is from L 1127, through Brotterode, Trusetal, and ending in Bad Liebenstein.
Access to the Glasbach Mountain area via L 1027 will be restricted to authorized vehicles, participants, and event personnel only. Road preparations for the mountain slalom will occur on a two-kilometer stretch from Thursday to Friday.
For visitors and spectators, designated parking areas will be set up at convenient spots away from the main racecourse. Shuttle services will run regularly from parking lots to the race event site to ease congestion and ensure smooth transportation. Handicapped parking spaces will be available close to the event entrance. Overnight parking restrictions may apply in certain nearby areas, so visitors are encouraged to use the designated parking facilities.
The mountain slalom race will take place on Saturday and Sunday. It's important to note that the closure will affect the stretch of road between the sports field in Steinbach and 200 meters before Rennsteig (Glasbachstein).
Tree felling will take place in the local area around Steinbachstraße 10 on Thursday afternoon. The road closure will end approximately on August 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM, and the dismantling will take place on Monday morning following the race.
If you plan to attend, make sure to allow extra travel time and follow all posted signs and instructions from event staff for a safe and smooth experience. For real-time updates, keep an eye on local traffic announcements closer to the event dates. Parking will be available at Altenstein, Steinbach, and towards the ski hut during the race.
