Questioning Elton John's Signing Ability?

Questioning Elton John's Signing Ability?

Cripes, things aren't looking so swell for ol' Elton John! The bloke's been grappling with a declining vision after a bloomin' infection, and now it's reported that he's having a devil of a time signing his new album.

Blast it all, the 77-year-old Rocket Man's vision's been going to the dogs. According to the British tabloid, The Sun, he's had to simplify his autograph to the darned letter "E" and a kiss symbol due to his blurry peepers. It ain't easy for the bloke to jot down his full Reginald Dwight signature anymore, what with his eyesight going south.

Fans have been given a heads up about this change in the autograph game, as Elton prepares for the limited edition sets of his upcoming album "Who Believes In Angels?"

Elton's been voicing his concerns about his deteriorating vision in recent months, yet his new album, collaboration with American singer Brandi Carlile, is set to drop like a bomb on April 4.

In July last year, the bloke lost his sight in his right peeper after catching an infection while sunning himself in the South of France. He's also been letting the cat out of the bag that his left eye's got issues too. Back in December, he admitted that he couldn't catch the previews of his new musical adaptation of "The Devil Wears Prada" due to his vision troubles.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Elton discussed the havoc his sight loss had wreaked on his daily life. "It's really knocked me for six," he said. "I can't read, I can't see."

Despite his predicament, Elton kept it chipper in an interview with The Guardian in February 2025. "I'm a lifelong optimist, and right now, I'm having some vision problems. There have been times when I've felt down, but then I think about how lucky I am. I have a newfound respect for the visually impaired, but I have a great life and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my vision to improve."

John's no stranger to health problems and addictions, but his tough-as-nails attitude ensures he'll bounce back, just like he always does.
