Actress Karin Lesch (1935-2025) has left us at the age of 89. Her daughter, Anja Mathilde Wallocha, shared the tragic news with the German newspaper, "Bild," on March 12, 2025. The news comes nearly a decade after the passing of her husband, Hans Dieter Maede, and more recently, their son, Michael Maede.

Karin Lesch: The Regal Presence in "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella"

Born into an acting family, Lesch gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of the gracious queen and the loving mother of the unruly prince, played by Pavel Trávníček, in the 1973 Christmas fairy tale film, "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella."

Rich reminiscences pour in from fellow cast members, such as Pavel Trávníček, who expressed his heartfelt condolences upon hearing the sad news. Trávníček fondly recalled that director Václav Vorlíček (1930-2019) had personally chosen Lesch for the role at the insistence of Rolf Hoppe.

Rolf Hoppe, who played the king, spoke highly of Lesch, saying she was "beautiful and elegant." Trávníček is the only surviving member of the main cast as the Czech actress Libuše Šafránková (1953-2021) passed away in 2021.

Karin Lesch was also seen in the TV productions, "Maria and the Paragraph" and "The Ghost Trap," the following year.
